Program Outline:

This presentation will provide an overview of the basics of TRIZ and how it can be used in business and personal situations to arrive at “Inventive Solutions”. Real world examples and the results from one company’s efforts and experiences to date in implementing this tool will be presented, followed by a question and answer session.

Our presenter, Rick Gour, graduated Cum Laude from Weber State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Rick began his career as an Industrial Engineer with Morton Thiokol, and continued his Aerospace experience with Hughes Aircraft Company as a Manufacturing Engineer and Program Manager.

He has held positions of increasing responsibility, working on a variety of projects in the Aerospace and Automotive industries including Manager of Value Engineering for TRW Automotive, where he focused on implementing Value Engineering on future products. Rick is currently Director of Quality at Inovar, a contract electronics manufacturer located in Logan, Utah. 

Rick is a Six Sigma Black Belt, a Pretium Certified TRIZ Master Black Belt and a SAVE International certified Associate Value Specialist.
