Lifetime Products, Inc., has applied innovation and cutting-edge technology in plastics and metals to create a family of affordable lifestyle products that feature superior strength and durability. Lifetime has been manufacturing in Utah for over 23 years, and is the world’s leading manufacturer of folding tables and chairs. Founded in 1986 as the maker of portable basketball systems that revolutionized the industry with patented technology, Lifetime has continued to develop a variety of innovative products that outfit the lifestyles of today’s Americans.
“We continue to spend a great deal of time and effort in learning and implementing new Lean and visual workplace tools and techniques,” said Richard Hendrickson, President of Lifetime Products, “The ROI has been outstanding. We are always looking for ways to increase our knowledge and understanding of a true ‘Visual Workplace’.”
Continuing a transformation that began in early 2009, Lifetime Products is learning lean principles under MEP’s tutelage and making incremental, yet dramatic changes through company. In August of 2009, a team of Lifetime employees took and passed the lean Bronze Certification at Utah State University.
After implementing Lean principles, Lifetime has already cut 25 percent of finished inventory over 2008. More than 787 “Kaizens” (employee-suggested process improvements) have been submitted; with 424 currently being implemented. Setting company sights on the Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing, Hendrickson continues to drive Lifetime Products forward learning the most up-to-date practices and striving for continuous improvement.
We all use their wonderful products. Now be part of the small group of members that is fortunate enough to tour one of our areas best benchmarks in continuous improvement.
